To my dear family and friends who are members of the Mormon Church,
This letter is intended for after the rapture and everything that I say I try to say in love. God has raptured His Church. His Church is not an institution but a body of believers. All the many different people who have disappeared are right now in heaven enjoying fellowship with the Lord God. Those who are in Christ and truly know Him have been taken out of the world to be spared the wrath that God is going to now pour out. God has a track record of doing this kind of thing-think of Noah and Lot. I write this letter to you in hope that you will put your faith in the Bible, which is the only Word of God or scripture on earth. I really do care for you guys and that is why I keep pestering you (even when I'm gone) with my testimony of the Bible and the one and only true God and His plan of salvation of which the Bible testifies. My great hope and desire is that you will be saved and be in heaven with us.
As you know the LDS Church does not teach anything about a rapture. I had never heard of it until God in His mercy (Titus 3:5) delivered Jason and I from deception and eternal death. I've tried to inform you a bit about the rapture. I'm not sure how the LDS Church leaders will try to explain the disappearance of many people around the world. The majority of earth's inhabitants will sadly be left behind (even some who profess to be Christians since just saying it doesn't make you one-there is a difference between a said faith and a genuine heart faith). Matthew 7:13-14 warns, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and MANY there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it." Many will find themselves consigned in Hell for eternity. God is very clear that we have only two possible destinations after death. We can either spend eternity with Him in heaven or eternity separated from Him in hell. I really hope and pray that you will be one of the few who will accept God's way and His righteousness and NOT stubbornly cling to your own perceived goodness and trust in your righteousness to get you in heaven.
God has just given you an amazing proof and evidence with the rapture. For instance, God has proven once again the trustworthiness and reliability of His Word. There are many places in the Bible that God foretold the event of the rapture (2 Thessalonians 4:15-17 and Matthew 24: 36-41 to name a couple). The Book of Mormon says in 1 Nephi 13:28 that "there are many plain and precious things taken away from the book, which is the book of the Lamb of God (the Bible)". The Book of Mormon is false and lies. Jesus stated, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away" (Matthew 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33). God not only told us that He would protect His Word and that it would never pass away, He also has given us lots of evidence that His Word (the Bible) has been preserved and uncorrupted. We have many good books in our bookcases that discuss the evidences for the Bible's reliability. I hope you will take advantage of them if you still need to.
Another thing that God has given clear evidence of with the rapture is that He does not recognize you as one of His. OK, this might sound very offensive to you but please listen!! You may have thought that you had a good relationship with God. You may have thought that you know God. The fact that God did not take you up in the rapture tells you something different. Please examine the facts and evidences! Just because the facts and evidences may hurt and not 'feel good' doesn't mean that they should be dismissed and ignored. You just do not always get good warm fuzzy feelings with the truth. Sometimes the truth can hurt. If you are reading this, then it follows that you are still alive and thus you still can BECOME a child of God (provided you do not take the Mark of the Beast). What do you need to do to be with God in Heaven? Jesus told Nicodemus that we must be born again. In John 3:5-8, Jesus tells him that we must be physically born (first birth) and spiritually born (second birth-born again). I can tell you that I did not receive the Holy Ghost into my heart when I was confirmed by a Mormon Priesthood holder after my baptism into the LDS Church and neither did you! No one is spiritually reborn by any ordinance performed in the LDS Church.
Nicodemus asked Jesus how a person could be born again. Jesus said, "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up (the cross): that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." When we believe on Jesus Christ (His sacrifice for us on the cross) and receive Him than we are born of the Spirit and BECOME a child of God. John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them gave He power to BECOME the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: Which were born, not of blood, nor will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." You are NOT a child of God UNTIL you are born again.
I received Jesus and was born again when I surrendered to God in May 2001. I completely let go of all my beliefs in my works or own righteousness. I repented of ever thinking that I could be a God or that God was an exalted man. I recognized that I am a sinner completely dependent upon God's mercy and transferred all of my faith and trust in Jesus Christ's sacrifice of atonement for me upon the cross. Eternal life is a free gift to all who believe and trust in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9). If you believe in the necessity of your own works or righteousness to get you into heaven, then you are not trusting in Jesus. If you have truly received Christ as your Lord and are in Him then you will be obedient to Him. You will want to serve God and keep His commandments because you love Him and He alone sits on the throne of your life.
I find it ironic that I learned in the LDS Church that it is wrong to trust in the "arm of flesh" (2 Nephi 4:34), because trusting in "the arm of flesh" is exactly what the members are taught to do. God gives evidence and does not want a blind faith. He tells us to "prove all things" (1 Thessalonians 5:21). When your faith and trust is placed on the Mormon Church Leaders, you are trusting in the "arm of flesh". If your faith and trust is placed on your feelings, you are once again trusting in the "arm of flesh". Nothing should supersede the authority of the Bible. God has given lots of evidence that the Bible is His uncorrupted Word. God sticks to His Word so I would advise you to read it very carefully. The Lord has the final script of earth's history laid out in the Bible and since you are now living in that time period you might want to pay close attention.
I pray that you will discover God and trust in Him. The days ahead are going to be a nightmare. Eternity in Hell would be much worse though. Don't be fooled by those who appear righteous. The anti-Christ will appear very righteous and dynamic, but he is extraordinarily wicked. Judas who betrayed Jesus appeared to be a righteous upright man. None of the apostles guessed the betrayer to be Judas when Jesus said that one of them would betray Him (Matthew 26:20-22). I know that the Mormon Church leaders might appear righteous to you. Their teachings and doctrine (this is their fruit) clearly show though that they are not from God.
"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness". 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
I love you so much and desire very intensely that you might have eternal life. The Mormon doctrine is blasphemous and wicked. I pray that you will denounce it and place your faith in the true living God that the Bible testifies of, because as the Bible says in John 4:24, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth." Hope to see you in heaven!
With Love,
Laura
