I want to make my children happy. Should I give them anything they want?
Don't overindulge your children. They need to learn patience and that they cannot have everything they want. It will build up their character. Have them work for what they want as well. It will make the prize even better. Pampering your children will only cause them to become what you do not want: brats. Spare your children this experience and have them learn to share. Their attitude will improve and they will learn a valuable lesson in life.
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart; you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up" (Deut. 6:5-7).
