Does God allow cremation?
“Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned” (John 5:28-29). The Bible gives no detailed instruction as to the proper way to handle a dead body. It is very clear, though, that it is the life a person lived that matters.
A few cases of cremation—mostly out of sheer necessity—are described in Scripture, giving enough credence to the idea that God is not opposed to it. It would seem logical that if God were against cremation and practicing it would affect the resurrection of the body, He would have spoken out against it.
A deceased Christian is awaiting resurrection, transformation and an eternity with Christ. God is capable of carrying out His plan for believers whether they are cremated, buried, frozen in ice, stuffed…you get the idea.
